Avocado Dyeing

Avocado Dye Baths

Pits to the left, peels to the right, my not so solar solar vats.  They have been sitting on my table in my wet studio for some time now.

Avocado Peel

Will add more peels tomorrow and bring to a boil to prevent mold from forming.

Avocado Pit Dye Vat

Starting an avocado pit dye vat in a 2 quart jar.

Green rusted silk

This piece of silk crepe de chine was rusted first and then dyed with acid dyes to achieve a wonderful sage to avocado coloring. I'm using it in my extreme embroidery samples.
