Birds
Thanks to the 60 Day Bird Journal Challenge I'm back to drawing birds, and right now I'm in an art bird frame of mind! Here is my half duck half water bird I'm working on this afternoon.
Tonight's activities include clearing my drawing and drafting tables so that I can start working on my crow panels once again. It's snowing here today so it seems like the perfect day to focus exclusively on my studio.
I have a solo show coming up this spring and I have yet to decide what I will put in the show, this is code for I haven't started yet and I haven't a clue! It'll be fiber art of some sort, 2D for the most part, and may involve more crows, and corn of course, and maybe some Queen Anne's lace???

View Outside my Studio Window
Snow!!! I laid down around 10:30 for a much needed nap and woke up a couple of hours later to snow. Here's the view out of my studio window, onto snow covered scaffolding planks.
First Snow ~ Fall 2013
Firebush is stunning against it's white backdrop.
Oliver is hilarious, this is his first snow that we know of and he keeps trying to eat the snow. Angel was really excited, it's looking like this is going to be a fun winter.

Snow!!!
Woke up to some snow this morning.
Well at least the raised vegetable beds are getting some much needed moisture.
My more tender herbs are covered by plastic buckets.
Traffic is moving slow enough that I was able to get a clear shot of the intersection during rush hour.

Snow!!!
Unexpected snow, we were supposed to get an inch of the white stuff, if that, instead some six inches fell.

Moving Snow
This is all the further I got before I started feeling sick again... it's a good start at least I have a place to stand on the sidewalk now for moving snow.
Raised Beds Under Stress
This one just flat out collapsed and has taken on the appearance of a bathtub.
The bed to the far right is starting to lean. The one in the middle has been over engineered so should stand up to the snow with no issues.
Snow!
Tomatoes anyone???
Neighbors crab apple isn't doing so hot this morning.
That's a five foot tall burning bush under that snow, or it was anyway.
My beloved red oak, the branches are nearly touching the ground when they should be up another ten or so feet in the air. It's this tree that I'm the most worried about at the moment, hopefully the wind doesn't bring it down!!!

Artist Date
It snowed, it's cold and slippery out, and we are down to one vehicle which John has at the moment so this weeks artist date was spent finding a cool container, in the house, to put my crayons in, and time spent coloring because... well I can! Mindless fun at it's finest.

Snowy Garden
Soon, soon the snow will be melted, the ground thawed and I'll be able to retrieve last years remaining root crops! The plans for this garden, this summer, are sugar snap peas and then eventually tomatoes and yellow wax beans.
