June Poppies
I added some "sky blue" setacolor transparent paint to the lower half of the piece. The Poppies themselves are painted with shiva paintsticks, I used two different yellows. I'll add some color to the top of the piece to balance it out and more color to the poppies themselves.Thursday, December 25, 2008

Coral Reef Series
Top pic is of the fabric before I started applying shiva paintstiks - I"m no where near being done with the surface of this piece, and then it needs to be stitched!!! My shiva iridescent blender is NOT cooperating, time to dig out a new one. Everytime I went to draw a line on the fabric it wouldn't lay down color, if I pressed harder it just started flaking apart not fun at all, I've had this blender for about four years now so that could be a part of the problem.Wednesday, March 05, 2008
Forest Floor

The fabric after todays application of shiva paintstiks.
My next project, it's been three years in the making it's so hard to believe that I started this piece of art cloth about two months before my mother suddenly died! I'll be pushing the surface of this piece for some time to come, I'm thinking that it needs to be compost dyed and maybe even rust dyed. So far the fabric has been painted, stamped and I've applied some shiva paintstiks.Saturday, September 08, 2007
What I've been working on

Well if I wasn't in so much pain I'd be working on these extreme embroidery pieces! This is where you take traditional embroidery layering, distorting and simply pushing the surface until the desired result is achieved.
Here I'm starting with a piece of muslin (calico) that I've painted with Tsukineko inks and then with light gold Shiva Paintstiks for my base layer. The piece is 9" square and is now ready to be partied on!!! Now to just get my body to cooperate with my plans.
