Interesting no one ever tells a resturaunt owner that it’s bad to make a profit, I only hear this kind of thing in the company of artists, artisans, and crafters, why???
it's not "bad" to make a profit. i think though that when you are speaking of something less concrete than food, farming, manufactured products etc. (like creative stuff) it's just less obvious- hence the difficulty in assigning it a value. profit is not restricted to monetary value, by the way.
