Thanks very much. I don't have a blog but do have a week old fermentation woad vat going. I haven't got the "bloom," but other wise it looks good and pH seems high enough. I tried a woad "spectralite" vat last year that only gave me a weak blue that has mostly faded. As I've seen others say that they've had good colors from vats without the "bloom" first, I decided to do my first dip today. My vat contains woad, soda ash, madder root, and wheat bran.
